On this Merzouga Desert Tour from Marrakech, you will visit the most amazing part of the Sahara desert and you will be able to contemplate some of the most impressive and different landscapes of Morocco. In a comfortable 4×4 or Minivan, we will cross roads, dirt tracks, valleys, ports, gorges, dunes, and Bereber villages with history & Culture.
Day 1
Morning departure via one of the highest passes in Atlas mountains(2.260alt) Tizi-NTichka. You’ll stop at the famous kasbah of Ait Benhaddou( Unesco site), where many movies filmed the main ones, Lawrence of Arabia, Tea in The Sahara, Game of Thrones and Gladiator. On your way to Dades gorges, you’ll see a couple of Berber farmers in Skoura. Heading to the gorges it’s here you’ll appreciate the tranquility of Atlas mountains, have the chance to explore the scene of the daily life of Berber-Nomads isolated by the quietness mountain. Day 2
Have your breakfast and walk a little bit between the beautiful Canyons, before heading for Merzouga, through another kind of gorges, Todra ones, where you’ll stop for a while to refresh yourself by bathing in the cold water of the river. Arrive in Merzouga Morocco’s only genuine Saharan Erg(250m high), one of those huge, drifting expanses of dunes that typify much of the Algerian Sahara. Your camels are load-up, It is here that you will ride off the ocean of the golden sand. While traveling to your camp you’ll appreciate the pure beauty of the landscape. night in the middle of the dunes, under the nomadic tent.
Day 3
You will wake up early to see the sunrise over the dunes have your breakfast and drive to Ouarzazate via Rissani one of the oldest cities in Morocco, and the capital of desting Alaoui, this spot was centuries ago a very busy commercial trade center sun-Saharan African and to the North. You’ll pause in the nomad market it’s considered the largest one in the whole south of Morocco, heading to Tazarine and a couple of other villages. You will see the magnificent palm garden of the Draa valley. Arrive at Ouarzazate for lunch, then the road to Marrakech via Tizi-NTichka pass. check into the hotel and end of the trip…
