This Mhamid Desert Trip from Ouarzazate is not a short weekend getaway, there is nothing more authentic to take a desert tour with a Camel ride and spending a night in a traditional nomadic tent with Bereber music show around the campfire under stars.
Day 1
Morning departure on 4×4 to Erg Chegaga dunes by Agdez village and Draa valley via Zagora (Tombouctou 52days), on your way you see many of Berber villages and the longest river in Morocco where you will take serval of the photos of the Draa valley. The valley is very rich in datte Palm trees. Arrive in Zagora for lunch facing the Amzerou village on the road to Mhamid crossing Jbel Bani. From here we will start our adventure, driving off-road to oasis Mlaalg to get to the camp in Erg chegaga dunes. Camel ride to enjoy the sunset over the magic dune. Dinner and overnight in a nomad tent with sky stars.
Day 2
Breakfast in the desert then tarmacs road to discover the area, crossing Iriki lake to get to Fum zguit village. Lunch in Taznakhet the capital of Selim Berber carpet made by local women’s. Heading to Ait Benhaddou Kasbah where many movies were filmed, the main ones, Lawrence of Arabia, Tea in the Sahara, Game of Thrones, and Gladiator. Time to explore the bereber lifestyle and visit the kasbah then road to Ouarzazate to your accommodation. End of the trip…
